A Message from the Principal

The 2017-18 school year is begun, and we, at Reese School, are thrilled to get back to the task of shaping students to become contributing members of our community! It is great to see all of the returning students as well as meeting so many new students who have come to join us this year at Reese. We welcome each of you!

This year, there are several changes to the Reese staff. We have added the following to our staff this year!

  • Van Ha To-Cowell as Vice Principal
  • Sheena Peters as School Psychologist
  • Windy Kenny as Cook Manager
  • Mr. Nuss – 6th grade, Room 14
  • Mrs. Casqueiro – SDC Structured (Grades K-3), Room 13

Additionally, some teachers have accepted different classroom positions this year at Reese:

  • Mrs. Locke – 3rd grade, Room 26
  • Mrs. Shepherd – 4th grade, Room 30

And one teacher has changed her name during the summer:

  • Ms. Smith has become Mrs. Hickok, 3rd grade, Room 23

This year, Reese School will be continuing our quest to provide the finest education that we are able for your children. We will be entering our first year of training with Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports (PBIS) which provides staff training to create a positive climate for our students as they grow and learn here at Reese. We also have installed “Buddy Benches” in both the primary and intermediate playgrounds to serve as an encouragement for students to take the initiative in making each others feel accepted as a part of our school family. Although we anticipate that there will be some obstacles, we are looking forward to making each student feel as safe and comfortable as possible here at Reese. We welcome your support in this endeavor!

As we begin the new school year, let’s work together in preparing our children for a great year of learning! Be sure to go over the rules and information in the Student Handbook with your child(ren), talking over the expectations that we share in order to make your child(ren) successful this year. Remember to follow the school expectations for traffic flow and school procedures for the safety of all our students. Working together, we can make this an effective year of learning at Reese School!
